Spirituality Junk Shop

Share/Bookmark

There must be something to do to be enlightened. So goes the commanding order. And without persistence, the adventurer will never realize the end, whatever that end maybe. And there should be no excuse at not finding what is sought for. There are tons of resources pertaining to spirituality.

First, there is this tempting idea what enlightenment feels like. Next is to look for materials that is hoped to confirm such idea, and the unwavering practice enlightened is achieved.. Books, mantras, chakras, yoga, meditation, breathing, kundalini, postures, diet, ambiance, frequencies, retreats, satsangs, music, mysticism, Zen, and koans,  Name them all. All these are necessary to achieve what everyone has tried achieving for many years. Enlightenment.

But hey, after so many years of thousand mantras, volumes of books, energy alignment instructions, penitence, chakra activation, kundalini awakening instructions and a lot more, did it bring anyone closer to the 'thing'?

The truth is that all these are trickery. When the alarm clock goes off, you will still need to comeback to what you usually do. Thinking. Worries. Anxieties. What happened to the persistent practice now? After lots of promises there is nothing to be hopeful about. Frustrations after frustrations. As is as it was, full of raging craps in the head.

Have paid a lot to visit to the shop only to find out nothing and go out empty-handed after. Nothing in there to carry for home. All are junks full of junkies. Just a repository colorful trickery of the mind.

But it has to be scouted nonetheless. The spirituality junk shop must be visited. What is necessary is to come back. And coming back will bring the understanding that it is as it is. Because the 'thing' has never been away for an inch or for a second.

Mind is an Unending Rebuttal to Life.

Share/Bookmark

Mind will cease? It will not
It will not until you rot.
Dream loving, love dreaming
But it won't come until it's done.

When it's done and sure it will
What would be left of that resounding fear?
None is seen as troublesome
As when fear is there, still undone.

But come and see the gods invite
You eat with them, partake with might.
Devour the flesh of thickened clout
Then gather the self from inside out.

Mind is an unending rebuttal to Life.
That's the Punishment.
But when seen as That.
Oh boy, that's the Paradise you've been looking for!

On a Razor's Edge

Share/Bookmark

Dream catching the dream;
Of catching the One to whom It clings.
Trying to grasp the One that sees;
From behind the eyes of the one that seeks.

The trick is on but thinly veiled.
As thin as edge of a razor's blade.
Oh what a mad mind which plays itself
Plays well itself in the grandest theft!

You want a taste, then cut the chase.
Want it all, then cease the pace;
Look and see that none is done
No matter grand you arrive at none.

Arrive at none is not a wasted plan.
Choices are on but yet none done.
Slap your face and consider this.
That glory is already here as eternally old as peace.

Who Likes Wrong Moments?

Share/Bookmark

There is only Now
As opposed to the common definition of "right moment", "wrong moment" is a term to mean you really want the right moment.

Nobody seems to really like when the timing of a circumstance is off. Always wanting to have the moment of own convenience. But what if wrong moments indeed come, and in truth come more often? What you're going to do about it?

The truth is that there is a trick. The shocker that there are no wrong moments. That's it. Wait. But how come? Come to think for a while. Your wrong moment is just your own personal feeling about what is happening. Ask any person around and your wrong moment is as unique as their own wrong moment (or right moment) at that moment. In short, everything is mental. And since this is just in the mind, there is no truth to it unless you cling to it. There is no wrong moment (nor right moment). There is only the moment whether you see it as wrong or as right.

Now your dismissive reaction, what's the use? Well, there is no use. But that's the cheese. Recognizing that the present moment has no use, no desire, choiceless, or not wanting out of prejudice of anything is a freeing feeling. There is no moment you can call your own.

Hey, but this sounds like a good excuse to screw everybody else and get away with it scot-free. Maybe. But  wait. You missed the thing you are being taught about. That there are no wrong and no right moments for everybody else TOO. Remember? And you know what that means in case you want to to pursue your plans against others.

So having said that what exists only is this moment (and this includes ALL of your prejudices around it), there are two things you need to understand and dig about it deeper into your heart. 1.) There is only the Moment. 2.) You don't own a single moment. The moment owns you.

The Devil is my Friend

Share/Bookmark

The Outcast
I never had a desire to be holy. But if I do I would do it in a rather unconventional way. Befriend first the one thing that people have thought they hate for ages. THE DEVIL.

Well, I tell you what, loving the devil might be the best thing I can ever do in my life. I have the stomach to do it. I got good guts. If I want holy exemplars, history has lots to show. But they are not the ones I will emulate. I have already chosen the one I think has appeal to me:

There are lots of reason I should have rejected the devil at the first place. But as I see it, it would be unproductive and uninteresting for me to indulge in outright holiness without first tasting what people thought they know a lot but in truth know a little about.

The Devil or Outcast One is the receiving end of all blames why a prostitute kills the fetus inside her; or a central banker cheating people with his fractional reserve system; or a politician paying lip service for things that ought to be done. However, after all what's been said and done, the Outcast One is the less understood one. The Devil is thought to have already been comprehended crystal clear as an unwanted guy and thus needed to be avoided and be cursed. Yet, its nature being cast in the shadows, the Devil at the same time remains as a symptom of people's ignorance on what they are up against with.

Here is the spoiler. The Devil doesn't exists! It doesn't look like you can make a census count of it. You know why? Because the mind is the Devil itself. That is why it is less understood.

Having said that, let me go back to the main topic about how holiness can be attained through the Devil.

Holiness should not come about as a product of an effort to practice it outright everyday. Holiness will  come as an spontaneous effect of a clear understanding of the contrast. And this is why the Devil appropriately enters the scene. It is for me, for no other reason, to know first what is the Devil in order for me to understand what it really means to be holy.

The Devil is simply an idea; an imagination; a contracted interpretation of things collectively known as Undesirables. But 'Undesirables' is just relative to one's own list of Desirables. Meaning, it is a thought. It differs in each individual. The Devil is just a thought. Therefore, when I say "the Devil is my Friend", I mean nothing but just to plainly say I want to befriend my thought; my own imaginations; my own idea and to draw much benefit from it after understanding what it really is.

Understanding the Devil is not exactly keeping the Devil alive in me and then make it a hobby to keep screwing others. Rather in a wise manner it only means understanding my own mind; my own interpretation and then make it a tool for a spontaneous act of compassion or love.

Along the way, the Devil doesn't exist as a separate scumbag. On a wider understanding, it is a friendly companion, an inseparable aspect of the whole understanding that there can never be Holy without the Devil.

This Too is Just a Thought.

Share/Bookmark

Believing a thought is a thought.
Unbelieving a thought is also a.....thought? Are you sure?
What other options left for me to pick from then?
Heaven is a damned hell, and;
Hell is a damned heaven
Everything is just a thought.

This is the essence of meditation and yoga.
....to be choiceless (of course this too is a thought).
Finding out who you are;
Is just the same as finding who you are not.
The key is: Cease the struggle by not trying to cease it.
Because who you are isn't found out there. Not even in there.

It is where it is. That is who you are.
